Beyonce releases unexpected self-titled album on iTunes

Beyonce surprised everyone with her new self-titled album 'Beyonce.'

Beyonce surely surprised everyone when she announced and released her newest effort the on the same day. The album released exclusively on iTunes early this morning, Friday, December 13.

Diva, Beyonce was very generous with her fifth effort on which she offers 14 song tracks and 17 videos. The album features several guests collaborating with the singer including Jay Z, Frank Ocean and Drake.

Just yesterday, a 30-second preview of the music video for the song "Drunk in Love" was released on Beyonce's Youtube channel. "Drunk in Love" features Jay Z.

In addition, Justin Timberlake co-wrote couple of songs on the album including "Partition," Rocket."

Surprisingly, the song titled "Blue" which is the last track on the album, features Beyonce's little daughter Blue Ivy.

Beyonce's self-titled album releaset stirred waters of social media, when Twitter said that Beyonce was mentioned in tweets over half million times. Demi Lovato and Alicia Keys were also among those who tweeted about the album.

Beyonce described her new album as a 'visual album.' Some of the videos on the album were filmed in some of the most popular cities such as New York, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney or even Houston, which is singer's hometown.

According to AP, Beyonce said in a statement that she wanted to release her new album in a different way from her previous releases, because she was bored with it. She wanted to speak to her fans directly and she wanted the album to come out when it's ready, from her to her fans.

"I didn't want to release my music the way I've done it. I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There's so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn't want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it's ready and from me to my fans," expressed Beyonce.
