It has been confirmed that Zooey Deschanel is pregnant with her first child with her producer boyfriend Jacob Pechenik.

The "New Girl" star and her 42-year-old producer executive boyfriend have been dating since the middle of last year, and a rep for the actress confirmed the news of the pregnancy.

There's no word yet on the baby's gender, but Deschanel said, "Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one."

It seemed like there's a lot to celebrate in Deschanel's family, as her older sister "Bones" star Emily Deschanel is also with child. She is expecting her second child with husband and actor David Hornsby.

There is no word on whether or not wedding bells are in the future for Deschanel and Pechenik, but the actress has been married before to Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie. The couple split in December 2012.

For those who are worried about Deschanel and the future of "New Girl" though, a rep for Fox initially said to The Times that the network "doesn't have any comment on future storylines or production for the time being."

Her co-star Jake Johnson shared the news though that there would be no changes to the show.

Johnson, who plays Nick, Deschanel's character's roommate and former love interest, said that the actress's pregnancy will not be written into the current season.

"Jess is not going to have a baby," he said, "It'd be a weird Three Men And A Baby vibe. Just imagine how weird Winston would be around that baby."

He also expressed his excitement and support of the actress's pregnancy.

"I'm excited for her. She and Jacob are so excited and I couldn't be happier for Zoey," he said. "I think she's going to be a great mom."
