'Zelda Wii U' Release Date, Trailer: Nintendo Shows Video of New ‘Zelda’ Wii U Game

Nintendo will be adding a new 'Zelda' series in the 'Legend of Zelda' franchise built only for the Wii U platform.

During Nintendo's Digital E3 event, the popular game developer showed a video and trailer for their newest 'Zelda' game which will reportedly be launched in 2015.

"It's a wide world. We couldn't create a wide world like this in the past," Eiji Aonuma, the video game designer of "Zelda", said in the video, "The puzzle solving in this game will begin the moment the player starts to think about where they want to go. How they will get there and what they will do when they arrive. This is a clean break from the conventions of the past game of the 'Zelda' series where you have to follow a set path and play through the scenario in the right order."

The video that was shown revealed a vast landscape of an open field and swaying grass with mountains on the horizon.

It also showed Link riding on a horse while being chased by a multiple-legged monster while there are explosions all around him.

According to the Huffington Post, the trailer of the new game in Wii U showcased a better graphic design relative to the older Nintendo hardware.

"The newest game in the franchise, scheduled for 2015, introduces the first truly open world in a game from the series. Players can roam Hyrule Field or set off on a trek to distant mountains if they prefer. Players can get to any area they can see from virtually any direction. That's one of the ways the game breaks with franchise norms and introduces new ways to play," Nintendo said on their website.
