The YouTube application was officially upgraded for Android TV on Monday, and it is now available for download in the Google Play Store.
The update brings with it a couple of interesting changes, like the home screen recommendations have been added in and an integration with system search.
The integration with system search makes it possible for users to have YouTube video results at any point no matter where they are in the system or on which screen they're searching, according to Android Headlines.
The YouTube application for Android TV has been published in the Play Store to allow easy updates without a firmware upgrade.
Automatic updates of the application will be seen on ADT-1 developer unit from Google I/O and Nexus Player, an Android TV-powered media box and game console.
Android TV is a smart TV platform developed by Google. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and it is Google's latest attempt to create an interactive television experience, Android Headlines reported.
It can be controlled through verbal commands, an application on smartphones and Android Wear smartwatches. The system can also be built into Smart TVs.
Aside from YouTube videos, Netflix and Hulu+ and all video and music providers can offer their services on Android TV.
In the Nexus Player, YouTube video recommendations are already on the home screen and there is an automatic download when you sign in with your Google account, according to Android Police.
