Star Wars Episode 7 Cast: Yoda Rumored to be Returning as a 'Ghost Jedi' to Luke Skywalker
Star Wars Episode VII is coming next year, and the latest rumors indicate Yoda will be returning as a Force Ghost in the movie.
According to Metro, the diminutive green Jedi master will reportedly have a storyline involving his former pupil Luke Skywalker regarding a "rising imbalance in the Force," along with an urgency to protect the Jedi Order.
Yoda might not be the only Jedi Knight or Master to make a cameo in Star Wars Episode 7.
Metro reported, that holograms of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn, and Jedi Master Mace Windu will all be in the film. The deceased Jedi Knights' holograms could be showed beside Yoda in the Jedi Temple.
Star Wars Episode VII will be the first Star Wars film made by Lucasfilms after Disney acquired the rights. The film is expected to feature the return of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), and Harrison Ford as space cowboy Han Solo.
"We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison-or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, 'Look, this is what's going on,'"‰" said Star Wars creator George Lucas on the Bloomberg Businessweek website last year regarding the rumor of the original cast returning.
Lucas further expressed his thoughts to Bloomberg Businessweek.
"Maybe I'm not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them," said Lucas. "I won't say whether the negotiations were successful or not."
So far the only character officially announced for the film is fan favorite droid R2-D2.
Star Wars Episode VII will make its long awaited return to the big screen on December 18 2015.
