Yankees, Mets ONLINE LIVE STREAM: Yankees Rivera Blows Save to Mets, Game 2 / Series Moves to Yankee Stadium, Game 3
New York Mets vs. New York Yankees tonight at 7:05 PM ET, SNY, YES (New York).
Tonight on the mound for the Mets is right-hander Jeremy Hefner (0-5, 4.76 ERA) vs. Yankees righty David Phelps (3-2, 3.96 ERA).
The Mets stunned Yankees veteran closer Mariano Rivera last night, with three straight hits in the bottom of the ninth, giving Rivera his first blown save in 19 appearances.
As for tonight, the series moves to Yankee stadium for Game 3. The Yankees will start RH David Phelps in hopes he can help them avoid 4 straight losses. A win would do a lot for the Yankees momentum, seeing how they're about to play eight straight at home against two of the AL's hottest teams: Boston Red Sox, and the Cleveland Indians.
Phelps is 3-3, with a 3.09 ERA in 22 games (13 from the bullpen, 9 starts) at home, but has never pitched against the other New York team.
Mets scheduled starter Jeremy Hefner is one of the coldest pitchers in baseball. He has yet to win a game for his team, and has an ERA just under 5.00. Even if Hefner doesn't get the decision, a Mets loss tonight will match a team record for most consecutive games lost with one pitcher. Current record-holder Anthony Young will be watching to see if his name finally makes it out of the dog house.
Again, the Mets face the Yankees at 7:05 ET at Yankee Stadium. Check local listings for TV lineup.
