Xperia Z3 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Sony May Release New Smartphone at Berlin IFA 2014 on Sept. 3

A recent report said that e-retailer ePrice was lucky enough to receive an invite from Sony for the Japanese tech titan's exclusive booth unveiling and press conference scheduled for Sept. 3 at the IFA 2014 in Berlin.

While the invite does not mention the precise details of the products Sony intends to introduce at the event, it displayed images of something like a smartphone, a set of speakers, a small lens camera, a type of bipod and a slim television set.

In fact, the source, who purportedly leaked the photographs online, earlier revealed through GSMArena that Sony plans to launch a new 4K TV, an updated camera of the QX lens camera series, in addition to the supposed Sony Xperia Z3.

In another development, AndroidOrigin revealed some new information regarding the features and style of the upcoming Xperia. According to the website, the forthcoming smartphone is expected to arrive with a completely "redefined" design. They added, that Sony Xperia Z3 will be slimmer by 7 mm with softer and smoother sides when compared to the signature "straight edges" of the earlier Xperia models.

Rumors further suggest that Xperia Z3 will come with a 5.1 inch display and have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

While there are rumors indicating that Sony will be upgrading the display features of the upcoming Xperia Z3, the website asserts that the manufacturer will continue with 1080p technology. According to some other sources, the Z3 will be powered by Android 4.4.4 KitKat with quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and it is reported to clock at 2.4 - 2.5 GHz.

As far as the internal storage of the upcoming handset is concerned, the Xperia Z3 will have 3GB RAM plus 16GB inbuilt storage. It is also said to come with a 20.7 MP rear camera and a 2.1 megapixel front snapper.
