Xbox One Update November 2014, Features, Changes: Custom Background, Twitter Support, & More

One year after its launch, Microsoft just has rolled out new updates to the Xbox One console, which is available to every user worldwide.

The update was launched over the weekend and one of the new features included was the introduction of a customizable background.

The feature allows users to use a USB photo or an achievement image as the new homescreen wallpaper, in place of the black background which is the default setting of the console.

In addition to the customizable background, a user's profile can now be personalized with a bio and location field, some features which were originally present in the Xbox 360.

The profile also has the added feature "showcase," wherein a user can highlight the achievements and gameplay videos to friends.

Another update, which is a first for any Microsoft console is the integration of Twitter, which allows users to store and share gameplay videos with the followers.

Additionally, OneGuide will provide the Xbox One user with lists of the most watched TV programs in the area via Twitter.

Because of the new update, a console owner will also have access to the latest tweets from his favorite shows with the use of the MiniGuide while watching.

However, despite the new updates and improvements, Microsoft did not install a full-fledged Twitter application in the console.

Game analysts say that Snap was developed for a Twitter feed, but the Xbox developers denied the rumors.

Meanwhile, there are still other improvements added in the update, such as the "What's On" feature, which is found in the homescreen and invites users to watch the series or movie that is currently airing at the moment.

Microsoft initially announced the update in October, but it is now available to all users worldwide.
