Xbox One Midnight Launch a Success in North America

Several weeks after the launch of the PS4, Microsoft fired back against its rival Sony with the Xbox One, the second of two next-generation consoles that are coming out this year. The Xbox One had a midnight release last night in North America and saw crowds of hundreds and sometimes even thousands of people lining up to get their hands on the new device.

Marc Whitten, the corporate vice president of Xbox Live, talked about how people will use the Xbox One as a complete home entertainment center. He said, "One of the things that has been just so amazing for the Xbox One is the passion of the fans about play and Xbox Live. Everything we do is really about how we build new experiences for them. It's awesome."

Some customers talked about their expectations for the Xbox One and what they think Microsoft has in store for them. Jason Gelatka of Maryland waited in line all night to get his Xbox One. He said, "The Day One lineup of games is not fantastic. I'm confident though. They haven't reached their peak and better games are out there waiting to be made. Xbox has always listened to what I wanted. That's why I'm getting the Xbox One." Some games that were available at midnight last night were "Ryse" and "Just Dance."
