Xbox One August 2014 Update Rolls Out, New Features and Changes Coming to Microsoft Console
The biggest software update on Xbox One begins, as Microsoft started to roll out the patch on August 17. The new update is said to bring about "improved social features" as well as entirely ones.
The tech giant announced the update on Major Nelson, a tech blog. Reports say that the changes made to the software were heavily based off user feedback.
Additionally, Xbox will be changing additional features, those which were highly requested by gamers.
First is the mobile purchase. This is one of the most requested features on Xbox Feedback. Now, with the use of Xbox SmartGlass and Xbox.com, you can now purchase games and add-on content from anywhere. Users no longer need to get home just to download. If the console setting is set to automatic update, it can begin downloading your purchases immediately.
They are also updating the activity fees. Microsoft is now adding a new interaction system in their activity feed. The interface will also change to single column scrolling.
The blog read, "We'll add the ability to post text to your feed, and to "like" and comment on feed items. You can share game clips and anything else in the feed with friends either publically (to your activity feed) or privately (as an attachment to a message). You'll also be notified when anyone likes, comments on or shares your items."

They will also update the notifications when the battery is low. The notifications will also be disabled when the video is turned on.
Just like Facebook, they will also have the "last seen" option where "the friends list will now show how long it's been since a friend has been online. For example, "Last seen 20m ago: Forza Motorsport 5."
Xbox Store Game Download Codes will soon be available in US and UK retailers.
