‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Movie Cast: Jennifer Lawrence Protects Charity From Anti-Abortion Campaign?

"X-Men: Apocalypse" actress Jennifer Lawrence not only protects her fellow mutants in the film as Raven, but she also safeguards charity from anti-abortion campaigners. Also Ruby Rose defended Lawrence about the latter's "Slutty Power Lesbian" comment.

Lawrence had extremely protected the reproductive health organization Planned Parenthood, which had been targeted by anti-abortion campaigners, according to The Guardian.

In her interview with Glamour magazine, Lawrence also said that the shooting at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic in November 2015 had been so awful and it was not an attack on abortions, instead, it was an attack on women. The said incident had resulted in three deaths, as per the publication.

In the same interview, Lawrence pointed out that the organization's services had been important for her as a teenager with a strict home environment. She said that her mother had been really religious with her when she had been young and she would not have been able to get birth control if it had not been for Planned Parenthood.

Lawrence added that she would not have been able to get condoms and birth control and all such things she had needed as a normal teenager who had been growing up in a Jesus house.

In other news, Lawrence was previously intrigued about her statement that she preferred to dress like a "slutty power lesbian" and Rose defended her friend about the issue.

In her interview with New York Magazine's The Cut, the "Orange Is the New Black" actress defended Lawrence, saying hat she did not think that the comments had been malicious in any way. She said that she had not heard that quote until she had been told at the moment.

Rose also said that what she did know was that Lawrence was an amazing actress and an amazing advocate for women and women's empowerment and the wage gap in Hollywood and so many amazing things.

For Rose, Lawrence's statement was an "easy" quote to interpret or to pick apart. She added that her friend had an amazing sense of humor and she knew that would have never come from a bad place.

Meanwhile, Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016.
