'X-Files Revival' New Cast, Episode Titles News: Will Walter Skinner and The Smoking Man Return in Mini Series?
Last March, FOX announced that 'X-Files Revival' would be returning on the network on Jan. 24, 2016. Currently, filming for this much-expected six-episode mini series is underway, even as reports regarding the cast as well as the episode title leaks continue to flood the Internet.
According to IB Times, most fans are already aware that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have reprised their roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dr Dana Scully earlier, most recent reports suggest that two other 'X-Files' alumnus may also return in this revival mini series.
Crossmap reported that Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis would also be making a come back to the 'X-Files' world. While Pileggi will be reprising his role as FBI assistant director Walter Skinner, Davis will return as The Smoking Man.
However, looking back in time, one would recall that The Smoking Man was dead when the 'X-Files' ended in the 90s. Hence, it would certainly make them wonder as to the show runner will bring the character back from the dead. As of now, one can only wait and watch.
The Crossmap report further stated that fans will also see two other new characters aboard. It seems that, the self-confessed 'X-Files' fan Joel McHale will join the cast to portray the character of the traditional news anchor Tad O'Malley, while Annet Mahendru will be portraying Sveta.
Some reports also hinted that New Zealand actor and comedian Rhys Darby has joined David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and the remaining crew for the upcoming 'X-Files Revival' mini series on FOX. However, there is no confirmation regarding which role Darby would be portraying in the upcoming series.
In addition to the leaks regarding the cast of 'X-Files Revival,' the titles of the first three episodes of the mini series have also been released. The titles are named 'My Struggle,' 'Home Again,' and 'Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster.'
Some weeks back, the title of episode 1 was revealed through a leaked production call sheet. Prior to that photographs from sets of the 'X-Files Revival' showed David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson filming in Vancouver, Canada. In addition, other photographs showing the crew filming at a UFO crash site were also leaked.
'X-Files Revival' will return on Fox on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016.
