"The X-Files" at Comic-Con 2013
"The X-Files" was celebrating their 20th anniversary of the popular FOX show at the Comic Con International 2013 event.
This was one of the most anticipated events of Comic-Con this year as David Duchovny (Fox Mulder), Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully) to the stage along with producers Howard Gordon and Vince Gilligan.
When first taking the stage, Duchovny & Anderson got into character and came up with flashlights on which really got a rise out of the crowd. They then reminisced about some of their favorite moments from the show and answered some fan questions.
The moderater Michael Scheider and fans kept trying to get them to officially announce a third 'X-Files' movie, but to no avail. Duchovy did say though he always thought there would be more movies. "I always thought whenever we can come back together, we would as much as we can. So we will," he explained.
Gillian Anderson got to speak on what it was like playing such a strong female role. "I think just in terms of the feedback that I've gotten from young girls, young women and women the last couple decades, Scully had quite a huge impact on people [both her personality and things she stood up for]," Anderson said. "She was also a decent human being. People listened to her, she got to boss people around."
Producer Vince Gilligan went on to co-create the hit show "Breaking Bad". He said that there would be no "Breaking Bad" if it were not for "The X-Files". Gilligan noted that he learned everything that he knows from his seven years of working with "The X-Files".
We will see if a new 'X-Files' movie ever comes to fruition.
