X-Factor 2014 Judges News: Spice Girls Mel C Supports Friend Mel B as 'X-Factor' Judge, But Dislikes Show
Former Spice Girls member Melanie C recently dished out some surprising comments about the singing competition, 'X-Factor'. While Mel B had nothing but praise for the show, former Spice Girl singer Mel C said she doesn't believe the show produces a positive career for the winners of the contest.
"I've got a strange relationship with the X Factor," Mel C told Mirror in an interview.
"I'm so proud of what Melanie's doing, but I don't know how much I think the show is doing great things for the artists that they find," she added.
It was a surprising statement according to several news agencies since the 40-year-old previously praised her friend and current judge on 'X-Factor', Mel B several times.
"Melanie's been brilliant. I'm super proud of her. But I always knew she was going to be. She's perfect to do that role as a judge," Mel C said, "She's so brutally honest. It's good TV."
With her statements, news reports have speculated that Mel C is indeed supporting Mel B and not the show. "She's doing a great job on X Factor. We're dead proud. I think she's the best thing on it," she said at the launch of West End musical 'Made in Dagenham' last Wednesday night (November 5).
"I just think she's a great woman for the job. She's straight-talking, she's not playing a role. She's just being herself, and I think you have to appreciate her honesty. I wouldn't want to be a contestant... but she's doing a wonderful job," Mel C continued.
Meanwhile, the star also gave a little hint that it may be possible for the Spice Girls to reunite given that the group will be celebrating an anniversary soon, "It's the 20 year anniversary in two years so we will have to celebrate it in some way," she told Mirror.
