CM Punk News: WWE to Sue Superstar After Announcing He Will 'Never' Return Again (VIDEO)
There are new reports that claim WWE may sue CM Punk after leaving the company six months ago while under contract with the most popular organization in professional wrestling history.
"There's chunks of my life that I don't remember due to staph infections and concussions. You can't blame it all on drugs with this guy because, you know, I'm straight edge. What's been going on the past six months? Boom! What's up? Off the market. I'm CM Punk, I'm just a superstar. No. Never, ever. Never, ever, ever! They're going to go crazy about that on Twitter. They're going to hold me to it. And they're going to... yeah, whatever," said Punk to CBS-19's Chris Van Vliet on the red carpet at the AP Music Awards at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
Punk has not appeared in the WWE ring since he competed at the Royal Rumble PPV event on January 26, but that fact has not stopped the widespread rumors that the "Straight Edge" superstar will return to the WWE.
Now the sports entertainment company is reportedly contemplating whether to sue to popular former wrestler (whose real name is Phillip Jack Brooks) as a result of a breach of contract, according to a SeScoops report.
CM Punk recently had the longest WWE championship reign in the past 25 years after he had beaten Alberto Del Rio for the most esteemed prize in professional wrestling history at the Survivor Series PPV event on November 20, 2011.
However, Punk's extraordinary and extensive title reign of 434 consecutive days came to an end on January 27, 2013 when "The People's Champ" The Rock defeated him at the Elimination Chamber's main event title match.
Punk recently married his former coworker and current WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee on June 13, 2014.
