WWE 2k15 Roster News: Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360: Will Include CM Punk

According to multiple reports, former WWE champion CM Punk stands a chance to appear in the upcoming WWE 2K15 game, despite quitting the company earlier this year.

WWE 2K15 Executive Producer Mark Little addressed the CM Punk rumors in a recent interview with Polygon.

"Talkin' about rosters later," said Little to Polygon, "I work on the WWE now; you shouldn't know what to expect."

However, Little did reveal what gamers should expect in the upcoming game appearing on every major gaming console later this year.

"We're not a fighting game featuring WWE superstars," said Little, "At no point do I think we'll get it to be quite the same as a broadcast, just because of the scripted nature of the event, especially between two humans. The choreography that goes on in a match in the WWE is a very different thing than what we'll be able to replicate. But what we will be able to bring to life is that opportunity to have that experience. So if you want to use the ring psychology of a wrestler, the match will play out like a normal wrestling match should."

Punk has not set foot in a WWE ring since this year's Royal Rumble PPV event on January 26, but that fact has not stopped the prevalent rumors that the "Straight Edge" superstar will return to the WWE.

CM Punk recently had the longest WWE title reign in the past 25 years after he defeated Alberto Del Rio for the most prestigious prize in professional wrestling history at the Survivor Series PPV event on November 20, 2011. However, Punk's impressive and lengthy title reign (434 consecutive days) came to an end on January 27, 2013 when The Rock defeated him at the Elimination Chamber's main event title match.

Punk recently married his former colleague and ex-WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee on June 13, 2014. His wife previously held the WWE Divas Champion for a lengthy 295 straight days (June 16, 2013-April 7, 2014), setting a record for the title that was created by the WWE in 2008.

WWE 2K15 will arrive in American stores on October 28 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
