WWE 2K Next-Gen Release Date Confirmed for 2015

A new WWE game has been confirmed for a next-gen release on the PS4 and Xbox One in 2015.

The announcement was made by Karl Slatoff at the Take-Two Interactive Software earnings call, reported Polygon.

"During fiscal 2015, consumers can look forward to exciting next-generation releases from our NBA 2K and WWE franchises as well as other unannounced titles that promise to raise the bar for excellence," Slatoff said at the meeting. "We will have more to share about our titles throughout the next several months as we head into E3."

The end of the fiscal year is March 31 2015, so the game is expected to be released sometime before that date.

WWE 2K14 was released in October 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

WWE 2K14 recently received a new DLC that features legendary characters being added to the roster. WWE Legends and Creations DLC is out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in their individual console stores.

If the gamer has the Season's Pass, the DLC is part of the $19.99 fee, otherwise it is available for $8.99.

The superstars that come with the new pack are Hall of Famers, Bruno Sammartino and Dusty Rhodes. Other characters include, Ravishing Rick Rude, Jake the Snake, and Virgil. The DLC almost coincided with WWE's "Old School" Monday Night Raw this week.

For the Create-a-Superstar mode, 14 new heads were added to the design area.
