'Wreck-It Ralph 2' Release Date News: Walt Disney Approves Sequel?
A "Wreck-it Ralph" sequel is currently being made and is expected to hit theaters in 2018. The announcement was made by Walt Disney via Facebook Live with directors Phil Johnston and Rich Moore, as well as Wreck-it Ralph himself, John C. Reilly.
Produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, the first installment of "Wreck-it Ralph" was released in 2012 and became a hit. While it introduced a fantastic world that was mostly unexplored, Disney fans believe that its follow-up movie will be much more exciting.
In a statement, film director Rich Moore confirmed the announcement regarding "Wreck-it Ralph's" return.
"From the moment we started working on the first 'Wreck-it Ralph,' we knew there were so many possibilities with these characters. This time, Ralph's wrecking wreaks havoc on the web--as only he can do. Characters we loved in the first film are back and we are ecstatic to be working with them--and the actors who voice them--once again," he said.
Just when the film directors were about to reveal exciting details about the upcoming installment, the video stopped dead. Such scenario is very similar to the technical glitches in "Wreck-it Ralph," such as the Vanellope Von Schweetz.
As far as the plot of "Wreck-it Ralph" 2 is concerned, there are speculations that the movie will open with the arcade closing, so Ralph and his video game friends will have to leave and go someplace else. In the first movie, the characters are able to leave their games when the arcade closes at night.
"Wreck-it Ralph" 2 will hit the big screen on March 9, 2018.
