As of now, gamers can pre-order World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor online and receive "Character Boosts" for their toons. The new expansion is currently being beta tested and is rumored to be released on or before December 20, 2014.

Blizzard had previously announced that they were aiming for a Fall release in 2014, which would make the release a bit sooner.Also, Blizzard mentioned that they did not want an entire year to elapse without any major content being added to the game. This further signals fans that it's time for the Warlords of Draenor expansion.

The invites for closed Beta Testing has been sent out via email to select groups of the World of Warcraft players with links to upgrade their game expansions. These lucky players have been selected from old and long time players of WoW who have applied to receive testing programs through their Battle.net account; they can report glitches, inconsistencies and errors that will be rectified come expansion release. These players have the chance to venture through the Dark Portal and establish a Garrison to fight back against the Iron Horde.

Rumors about a November 23, 2014 release came about when considering the 10th Anniversary of the original World of Warcraft game.

In this expansion, new players will be given the opportunity to jump straight to level 90, making it possible to play the new content with their friends who've already reached the level cap.
