Wonder Girls Latest News: Yenny To Perform Korea National Anthem At Texas 'Korean American Heritage Night'

Yenny, one of the members of the Korean girl group Wonder Girls will travel to Texas to perform at the "Korean American Heritage Night."

The group has laid low this year after leaving fans wondering if they have already left the music industry for good. However, Yenny's event has created insight that the group will still continue singing.

The event is to be held on July 11 at the US Texas Rangers Stadium. It is sponsored by Arlington Global Life, according to JYP Entertainment.

Yenny will also join Korean baseball player Choo Shin Shoo during his fan meeting.

This is not the first time a Korean singer was invited to perform in the US. In May, Jung Yong Hwa, CNBLUE member, performed for the Korean American Event at the LA Dodgers Stadium. The popular Korean icon, Psy, was also featured in multiple US television shows. Psy was also invited to perform at the Grammy Awards.

The members of Wonder Girls, both current and former, have made headlines in the Korean entertainment industry. Their youngest member, Hyelim, has debuted her acting career in her performance in the new film, Takhonyeonmaeng.

Takhonyeonmaeng is directed by Kim Tae-gyoon, and is slated to premiere in China late this year. Hyelim will portray the part of an average college student in this film.

On the other hand, former Wonder Girls member, Sohee, returned to her acting career. In the July issue of Allure Korea, she expressed her different passions for acting and singing.

"It's similar in that I have to express my feelings and convey them but the difference is the preparing process. When I'm singing, I have to perfectly solidify the process in my body whereas when I'm acting I have to act before a certain frame becomes solidified," she said.

The actress added, "I think it's important for me to work hard as an actress who's just starting off. I think that's the respect I can show to all those who showed love and anticipation for my new venture. I want to focus on working this summer. I am working hard to greet fans through a good project."
