Women Sends Critical Letters to Parents This Halloween Instead of Candy : Your Kids Are "Moderately Obese".

A women that lives in North Dakota reportedly has made a decision to raise 'health-awareness' in her hometown by giving parents a critical letter if their child is "moderately obse", instead of a handful of candy. Cheryl, the women, called into the Fargo, North Dakota Y94 Radio station to give listeners ideas on how to 'treat' obese kids on Halloween, rather than give them a  handful of candy. Cheryl  reportedly said that she had planned to distribute these  letters to overweight children in hopes that they would continue to pass it on to their parents. She also expressed the quantity of overweight children in her neighborhood, and that it is irresponsible for a parent to allow these kind of children to trick-or-treat. Cheryl continued to say that this project was simply out of the goodness of her heart, and that she didn't want to be known as the "mean lady".

The letter in full reads:

"Happy Halloween and Happy Holidays Neighbor! You are probably wondering why your child has this note; have you heard the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child?" I am disappointed in "the village" of Fargo Moorhead, West Fargo. [Your] child is, in my opinion, moderately obese and should not be consuming sugar and treats to the extent of some children this Halloween season. My hope is that you will step up as a parent and ration candy this Halloween and not allow your child to continue these unhealthy eating habits. Thank you."

Obviously parents were not happy about hearing about this as many of them turned to Social Media, blogging sites, and personal accounts where the subject was tossed around alot. Many of the parents were harsh and angry at Cheryl, as they didn't take it lightly that she questioned their parenting skills. The letter has gone crazy on the internet today, and there will reportedly be a follow-up with Cheryl to see if she was successful at raising health-awareness in her community.
