Wolverine 3 Release Date, Latest News: Logan Hits Big Screen Again March 2017?
According to movie giant Twentieth Century Fox, Logan, also known as Wolverine, is set to have another comeback in March of 2017. The third 'Wolverine' installment following 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' and 'The Wolverine' in 2013 will be played, yet again, by Australian action superstar Hugh Jackman.
The 45-year-old actor also portrayed the same character in all of the five original X-Men film series which were released between the years 2000 to 2014. 'Wolverine' movies were drawn from the said superhero film series as a spin-off, while the X-Men series was based on the Marvel comic book of the same title.
Jackman, who recently signed on to portray Wolverine in two more superhero movie spin-offs, including the still untitled third 'Wolverine' movie, is also set to play the famous mutant in 'X-Men: Apocalypse', which is looking at a 2016 release date. 'X-Men: Apocalypse' is said and expected to be the final in the famous mutant superheroes movie.
In a recent article on their website, KDrama Stars has mentioned rumors of a possible story plot where Wolverine mortal enemies Sabertooth and Deadpool are to battle with the invincible mutant.
Sabertooth was previously played by 46-year-old actor Liev Schreiber in the movie 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'. He is a mutant who holds bestial features: razor-sharp teeth and claws, superhuman senses and an ability to heal quickly, similar to that of the mutant Wolverine. Deadpool, on the other hand is a mentally unstable mercenary.
The website also mentioned that there are rumors that Schreiber is already in talks with Century Fox to once again portray his famed villain role, but no confirmation has been made so far.
The third 'Wolverine' movie will be directed by 'Knight and Day' filmmaker James Mangold. Jackman and Mangold are currently working on the pre-production of the much-awaited Marvel franchise, and reports say that another sequel is already in the works as well.
