It's a great time to be a fan of music because of social media and the direct connection between fans and their favorite artists.

Rather than have to wait until a magazine interview or watching MTV news (back in the day), most artists can speak and share news to their fans directly via Twittter, Istagram, Facebook, etc. 

Wiz Khalifa gave his fans a taste of this personal connection on Monday night (June 24) when he shocked his fans on twitter announcing plans for his new album. His fans quickly were a buzz about the news. 

He wrote, "I'm droppin an album later this year too. & namin dat b**tch "Blacc Hollywood". 

Wiz also dropped a video for "Old Chanel," featuring Smoke DZA. No word on if this song will be on his upcoming record. He posted on twitter, "Just A Gift."

Khalifa has also been making plenty of rap features on other songs as well including Kelly Rowland's "Gone" and Wale's "Rotation".  

Wiz and Rowland recently performed "Gone" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, you can watch the performance above. 

Blacc Hollywood will be coming out following the success of his 2012's O.N.I.F.C. release. 

Wiz has also had big changes in his personal life with the birth of he and fiancé Amber Rose's son Sebation.
