Winter Jam 2014 Dome Spectacular Concert Drew Over 30,000 People on Kick Off Tour Date
Winter Jam 2014's kick off show at the Atlanta Georgia Dome on Saturday had a draw of over 30,000 people, making it the largest show in the tour's history.
The Winter Jam 2014 Dome Spectacular featured an amazing line-up of the Newsboys, Lecrae, Tenth Avenue North, Thousand Foot Krutch, Plumb, NewSong, Colton Dixon, Love & The Outcome, Everfound, Derek Minor and evangelist Nick Hall as well as high wire act, Nik Wallenda.
According to a press release, over 500 people sponsored a child through Holt International. This marked the largest night of sponsoring in the festival's history.
"Winter Jam at the Georgia Dome was a historic night for the tour," said NewSong's Eddie Carswell, creator of Winter Jam in a press release. "Our special guests and the JAM ZONE at the World Congress Center helped bring out a record number of people. It was a great night of encouraging Christians in Atlanta and sharing the Gospel with people who don't know Christ."
The Winter Jam 2014 Dome Spectacular also featured a special appearance by University of Georgia head football coach Mark Richt and other surprise guests. In addition, the iDisciple App Pre-Jam Party featured Love & The Outcome, Everfound, and Derek Minor opened the event.
Winter Jam is an all-day event, which opened with JAM ZONE, and was held from 10 AM - 6 PM in the World Congress Center. JAM ZONE was a free event, that featured a live performance stage. More than 85 booths of local businesses and exhibitors were set up in addition to food and merchandise vendors.
