Winds of Winter Spoilers Revealed by George R.R. Martin [SPOILER ALERT]
George R.R. Martin's sixth book to the 'Game of Thrones' series or otherwise known as 'A Song of Ice and Fire' is set to have a release date of 2017 if the author continues on his 250-words-a-day pace. Martin is infamous for his slow writing pace and his ailing age and health, with some fans even worrying that he might not finish the book in time before he passes away.
To satiate impatient fans however, the author has revealed a few bits of information regarding the events that would take place in the sixth book, 'The Winds of Winters'. The next paragraphs will be containing spoilers for the book, so those who do not wish to be spoiled it would be wise to stop reading.
"I think we're going to start out with a big smash with the two enormous battles," Martin reveals. He could be hinting at the war between Stannis Baratheon against Ramsay Bolton. At the end of the fifth book, 'A Dance with Dragons', the two forces are already at the brink of open war, so Martin might begin the sixth book with that.
The second battle is to be a siege between Daenerys Targaryen's loyalist forces against the Yunkai, a powerful neighboring city aimed at ending Daenery's rule.
Martin stayed away from the specifics but told that 'Winds of Winter' will be much like the previous 'A Song of Ice and Fire' books. "We have more deaths, more betrayals, and even more marriages," he said.
He has also revealed that at one point, Daenerys and Tryion Lannister will cross paths, but for much of the book, they will still be apart. Other things he revealed was that the Dothraki will return to the story, as well as things that are happening at The Wall.
