'Winds Of Winter' Release Date Could Lead to Death of Tyrion, Author George RR Martin Dishes Out Spoilers
Fans are starting to get the feeling that as they get closer to the release of George R. R. Martin's 'Winds of Winter' they are also getting closer to reading about Tyrion's death. However, in a recent interview, author George R. R. Martin revealed that Tyrion is his favorite character amongst the Lannisters.
Hollywood Life quoted George R. R. Martin as saying, "I love all my characters, of course, but Tyrion has always been a favorite."
The author went on to elaborate, "He is the easiest to write ... The only thing that is hard is that it takes me days and sometimes weeks to come up with the one-liners that Tyrion comes up with in, like, a minute. I wish in real life I was nearly as acerbic and funny as Tyrion."
With that said, what fans really wanted to know from the author, is whether or not Tyrion die in the upcoming storyline.
"Well, I did cut off his nose, so ..." While this not a clear answer, George R.R. Martin was in the mood to tease fans with some spoilers.
The author said, "They say that you write what you want to read and you create in television what you want to watch. I love shows that are unpredictable. I like shows to be more real. Predictable shows and books bore me," adding, "I want to be on the edge of my seat. So, the deaths are important and at all times necessary."
In an interview with Zap2it George R.R. Martin said that fans would meet the Martells of Dorne in Season Five of the 'Game of Thrones' HBO series. Also, the Sand Snakes will appear (the daughters of Oberyn Martell) who will likely seek revenge for the death of their father.
"I hope you like them, because you're also going to be seeing a lot of them in 'The Winds of Winter', the author said. In addition, George R.R. Martin confirmed that he's no longer going to write an episode for 'Game of Thrones' Season 5, because he's like to solely focus on finishing 'Winds of Winter'.
