‘Winds of Winter’ Plot Spoilers, 'Game of Thrones' Book Predictions: Will Davos Choose Stannis Baratheon or Rickon Stark?

George R.R Martin's 'The Winds of Winter' is still underway and a release date of the upcoming book has not yet announced. However, several predictions have been formulated by fans of the series as to what will happen in the book.

International Business Times reports that 'The Winds of Winter' will put Davos Seaworth in the spotlight- challenging his loyalty to the Lord of Dragonstone, Stannis Baratheon.

The smuggler-turned-knight and most loyal supporter of Stannis Baratheon faced and won over death several times, including a narrow escape in 'A Dance with Dragons'.

The book revealed that Stannis would be revered as King by Lord Wyman Manderly if Davos Seaworth was able to bring Ned Stark's sons to him.

Davos would have to traverse through a land believed to be ridden by cannibals--the Island of Skagos in order to accomplish the task.

Fans of the book and members of the Westeros forum theorized that Davos will discover Rickon Stark on the island and attempt to bring him back.

Meanwhile, Ramsay Bolton will marry an impostor of Arya Stark, in order to get the trust of the people in the north.

This means that Davos will need one of Ned Stark's sons to intervene and help the people in the north face-off against the Freys and the Boltons.

This has led many to believe that Davos will have to choose between maintaining his loyalty to Stannis or supporting Rickon as the new King of the north.

Davos and Rickon will reportedly develop a close relationship in 'The Winds of Winter' since both of them have lost loved ones, with Rickon having lost a father while Davos lost sons.

For those who may not know, 'The Winds of Winter' is the upcoming sixth novel in the epic series 'A Song of Ice and Fire' by critically acclaimed 'Game of Thrones' writer George R.R. Martin.
