Willie Nelson Forced to Suspend Tour Dates After Band's Bus Crash
Willie Nelson's band was recently involved in a bus crash in Texas that injured three members sources say. The bus ran into a bridge pillar on a highway about 75 miles Northeast of Dallas, Texas. Two of the band members that were hurt were released from the hospital with minor injuries, but one member was seriously hurt and is being treated in the hospital now. The bus driver was dealing with wet roads and high winds at the time.
Willie Nelson was not on the bus when it crashed.
Nelson's representatives issued a statement about the bus crash. They said, "Willie Nelson's band bus (not Willie's bus) was in an accident overnight on icy I-30. 3 members of the family were hospitalized. Additional information will be released as we get it. This year's Willie Nelson tour has been suspended indefinitely. We will post more when it becomes available."
The band was on the way to perform at the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, Mississippi, but the concert has been postponed along with the last four dates of Nelson's tour.
The drummer for Nelson, Robert Paul English, sustained the most serious of injuries. He has a broken hip and should be released from the hospital shortly.
The police say that rainy conditions and inclement weather caused the wreck.
