'White House Down' Starring Channing Tatum & Jamie Foxx, Next Big Summer Movie? Hits Theaters June 28, Watch New Trailer (VIDEO)
This summer has been full of big action movies from Iron Man 3 to Superman Man of Steel to Fast & Furious 6.
The next movie hoping to grab the summer time box office is White House Down starring Channing Tatum (Cale) and Jamie Foxx (President Sawyer).
Without seeing this movie yet, it sounds like it could have shades of being the next Air Force One, the movie featuring Harrison Ford, which did great at the box office as well.
Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx are both big names that can fill the seats of the theater, so if the movie storyline and directing can hold up, it has every chance to be a success. Americans love movies where they can root for their country in them.
The storyline for White House Down is: Capitol Policeman John Cale has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer. Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation's government falling into chaos and time running out, it's up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country. (via IMDB)
The movie also features Maggie Gyllenhaal as Finnerty and Jason Clarke as Stenz.
White House Down releases to theaters June 28th from Columbia Pictures.
Executive producers are Reid Carolin and Ute Emmerich.
