Watch Online as the Miami Heat take on the Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs Tonight
The Indiana Pacers look to rebound from the game 1 loss at the buzzer with game 2 against the Miami Heat tonight. That kind of loss can be demoralizing for a team, fighting all game and losing in the last second, but the Pacers say that they are not bothered by the 0-1 deficit.
"Our belief," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said Thursday, "has strengthened."
The team seemed to echo his sentiment, if not in word than definitely in action. The Pacers bus showed up for practice and shootaround the next day with no heads bowed or scared looks. The team seemed calm, loose, and relaxed. The only point of contention was the decision to leave Roy Hibbert on the bench in the game's final minutes.
"Very encouraged," Vogel said. "Our belief in our ability to beat this team has strengthened after Game 1. Our familiarity in the playoffs, in the playoff series grows with each day, grows with each game, and there's a lot of things we can definitely do better."
The end of the game was suting for the back-and-forth battle between the two teams, with a total of 53 times of either a tie or a lead-change. The game started and finished close, spending most of its time with no more than a 7 point margin between the two teams.
While the pace of game 1 may be difficult to produce, both teams will look to get more comfortable tonight in game 2. But, the pace of the last game will likely not be repeated. Both teams suffered more than usual from turnovers and there were times where gameplay was halted by refereeing.
"We're going to play a lot better," Heat center Chris Bosh on Thursday. "We've come to expect that of ourselves. We know that yesterday wasn't the championship effort that we need in order to win the series, let alone win the finals. We're going to have to do a much better job on defense and on offense to take care of the basketball, do a better job on the boards, do a better job of containing some of their actions."
The game will air tonight at 8:30 PM ET on TNT. But, if you're away from a TV, you can watch the NBA postseason online live stream here.
