The Top 7 Wednesday night on "American Idol" performing Classic Rock songs.  It was an up and down week for the contestants performance wise.  On last nights results show we found out who will make it into the Top 6 for next week.  

Burnell Taylor and Janelle Arthur ended up being in the bottom two last night and Taylor was the one eventually eliminated.  Burnell Taylor gave his farewell performance and the judges did not give him the save.

Carrie Underwood graced the Idol stage last night singing her new single, "See You Again".  

Underwood usually gives a flawless vocal performance live but she seem a little weak in the beginning of the song.  She still in no way sounded bad, but just a little below her normal standard.  By the end of the song though she seemed to have found her groove.  This song was written by Underwood along with Hillary Lindsey and David Hodges.  "See You Again" is the fourth single off her platinum-selling album, Blown Away.  Underwood had released four records since winning "American Idol" and just recently celebrated her 17th number one song.  

Underwood along with Kelly Clarkson have done what every Idol hopeful dreams of, being an Idol alum AND a pop super star.  While Underwood performed and current "American Idol" contestants sat to the side of the stage watching, you couldn't help but wonder what was going through their minds while watching.  

The results night on "American Idol" are always looking to fill time for the hour but one good thing they do is bring in outside performers.  This year they have brought in a top selling pop artist or band along with an Idol alum to performance on results nights on Idol.    

Some of the previous artists to perform this year have been Bon Jovi, Ne-Yo and One Republic.  The Idol alum performances have included Jessica Sanchez, Colton Dixon and Phillip Phillips.
