Man of Steel surprised a lot of people last summer. Not only was it a great popcorn-friendly blockbuster, but also it actually made Superman seem like a plausible character and not some superhero with limitless power.

Well, we've all heard Mr. Daredevil himself, Ben Affleck will be taking on the role as Batman in the sequel. Everyone assumes the next installment will be called Superman vs. Batman. According to a recent report on Fusible, Warner Bros. has registered eight different names with MarkMonitor, a company that protects corporate brands. Here are the possible sequel titles:

Man of Steel: Battle the Knight

Man of Steel: Beyond Darkness

Man of Steel: Black of Knight

Man of Steel: Darkness Falls

Man of Steel: Knight Falls

Man of Steel: Shadow of the Night

Man of Steel: The Blackest Hour

Man of Steel: The Darkness Within

Now keep in mind these may not be titles for the movie. You'd think Batman would get his name in their somewhere. However, Warner Bros. could be planning on using these names for anything from video games and smartphone apps to energy drinks and power bars.

Fans can count on Zack Synyder to be directing the sequel, along with the return of Henry Cavill as the Man of Tomorrow. Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor is also rumored to be featured in the film.

Man of Steel 2 is scheduled to be out in theaters July 17, 2015.
