Walking Dead Season 5 Release Date, Cast Rumors: Have Characters Lost Their Humanity?
"The Walking Dead" has put its characters through encounters with countless zombies, treacherous humans, and survival in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Will Season 5 see the group having to come to terms with the extent of their callousness and removal from ordinary human modes of life?
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Executive Producers Scott M.Gimple and Robert Kirkman talked about some of the non-zombie related challenges their characters might face this year. Gimple related some ideas that the characters might explore in the new season:
"Are we far too gone to be people anymore, to actually be human beings, to be able to relate to one another on an emotional level, to be able to live a real humanistic and emotional life-- are we too far gone?"
Meanwhile, the two also hinted that Terminus, a major factor in Season 4, will be making a return this season.
The town was cited by Robert Kirkman as the source of major upheaval in the new season, saying: "We're going to be dealing with Terminus in a big way as soon as we come back."
There are some rumblings that this outpost could be the home of a cannibalistic cult? What will we see in the new season? A confrontation between the two groups? And could this encounter drive the group further past the point of no return in terms of their humanity?
Speculation from the entertainment magazine Wetpaint has the new season of the show arriving on October 12, 2014.
