'Walking Dead' Season 5 Premiere Date October 12: Latest Cast News, Plot Spoilers

'The Walking Dead' Season 5 is about to air its premiere episode on Sunday, and Robert Kirkman, writer of the Walking Dead's comic series, went on to talk about the upcoming TV installment.

According to Kirkman, "this season is following the comic book storyline pretty closely, possibly closer than we ever have before, and there's a very popular, familiar storyline in the comic books that happened immediately following the exodus of the prison and it is entirely possible that we will be touching in some way on that very popular storyline" as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

The first episode of Season 5 is titled as "No Sanctuary," laying claim to the fact that Terminus is not as Rick and the survivors think. A Season 5 premiere preview reads, "We learn the true motives of the Terminans as Rick and the group find themselves in a vulnerable situation, will they be able to work together?"

With most of the survivors trapped in the cannibal camp, the show will definitely focus on Terminus and answer a lot of questions which were left hanging at the end of Season 4. Introduced in the last season, Andrew J. West, who plays the role of Gareth will be the new villain this season.

The fifth season will be composed of 16 episodes, and will be split into two parts. The first eight episodes will air this year, and the final eight will start sometime in 2015.

'The Walking Dead' Season 5, airs on Sunday October 12 at 9.00 pm ET/PT on AMC.
