'The Walking Dead' Season 4 Spoilers: AMC Announces New Episodes "Passage In Time" / October 2013 Air Date [VIDEO]

The Walking Dead Season 4 update!

AMC has confirmed The Walking Dead Season 4 is underway and began production Monday, May 6. Though the biggest show on cable won't premiere Season 4 until October 2013, AMC did release the photo, teasing fans with anticipation.

Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd also mentioned the next season will not pick up right where Season 3 ended. There will apparently be a jump ahead in time.

Gale said, "Every season, yes, there will more than likely be a passage of time. [The storyline is] unlikely to follow directly after the end of [the season finale]."

She also confirmed the Governor [easily my favorite character], played by British actor David Morrissey will return as a main character from the beginning of the episode. This time the former Woodbury citizens will most likely be with Rick Grimes (Andre Lincoln) at the prison.

The Walking Dead has been a ratings machine, especially Season 3, shattering cable records with each new episode. It's really incredible the series can continue its success despite all the changes made season to season [episode to episode rather] regarding creative. Writers and directors are swapped in and out like zombie extras, yet The Walking Dead carries on.

Along with the Season 4 announcement, AMC also stated Walking Dead writer Scott M. Gimple will be replacing Glen Mazzara as show director. Co-executive producers Tom Luse and Greg Nicotero are also being promoted to executive producers for next season.

How excited are you about The Walking Dead Season 4? It's scheduled air date is October 2013.
