'Vikings' Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Martial Arts Training, Character Death

At the San Diego Comic-Con event this year, a lot of teasers and spoilers were revealed about many of the popular shows currenty on air or scheduled to premiere soon. Amongst the list of casts and crews in attendance, the production team for 'Vikings' where there and dropped some spoilers about the Summer 2015 Season 3 installment of the series.

Katheryn Winnick who plays Lagertha on the show, teased in her interview with Yahoo! TV, "Season 3 is even more epic than Season 2. If you thought you loved Season 2, Season 3 just takes it to a whole new level."

Since the second season of 'Vikings' was very successful, there is a lot of pressure on the production team to make Season 3 just as good, if not better.

Alexander Ludwig who plays Bjorn on the show told Yahoo! TV that the series is "only getting grittier," which is the main reason for so many fans getting hooked into the series.

Winnick went on to say that the cast members of the show received martial arts training that they will have to use and demonstrate in their roles on the show, "We had some shield maidens last year that went into full-on martial arts training just to understand how to hold a sword properly, just so they could be background actors."

As it stands, there's a lot of exciting information about the upcoming Season 3 of 'Vikings'. One interesting spoiler that has emerged concerns the death of a fan-favorite character. Even though it has not yet been revealed who is going to die in the next installment, actor Kevin Durand spoke to Entertainment Tonight Canada about it.

He said, "Do you know how that happens? Did you know that I was there? When the person dies ...yeah, I'm on Vikings... it might have been my fault..." Durand said.
