The second season of the History Channel show "Vikings" is full of mystery, and many fans are wondering what will happen next. To see a few spoilers from the actor who plays Athelstan, George Blagden, read on.

Georege Blagden spoke to TV Guide about what the remainder of season two holds for his character.

"It's inevitable really that the first meeting that King Ecbert and Athelstan have is [when Athelstan] is nailed to a wooden cross and this man strides into the field and saves his life," the actor said.

Blagden spoke to how Athelstan's previous transgressions will come into play this season.

"Athelstan realizes that what happened here is a complete mirrored act to Ragnar saving Athelstan's lie in Season 1," he said.

He went on to explain the similarities fans may notice between season one and two, in the case of Athelstan's plotline.

"So once again, Athelstan is presented with this really powerful man, who, for one reason or another, decided to spare his life. I hope the viewers will be wanting to see what happens in this developing relationship with King Ecbert," the actor said.
