Vikings on The History Channel: Missed Season Finale? Watch Full Episodes of Season 1 Here

"Vikings" on The History Channel came to an epic conclusion last night. 

The final episode of Season 1 entitled, "All Change" was full of surprises and cliffhangers.

In the season finale, there will be drama for both Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and his wife Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) taking potentially dangerous trips in the season finale and the two brothers deciding if they will stay together or go their separate ways. At the behest of King Horik, Ragnar assembles a small party to travel to Gotaland (modern day Sweden) to resolve a land dispute with the area's leader, Jarl Borg. Ragnar's renown precedes him and Jarl Borg is intrigued -- has he found a new ally or is Ragnar just a puppet of the king? Meanwhile in Kattegat, with a plague taking its toll on the village, the people look to Lagertha to help appease the gods. 

"Vikings" follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok the greatest hero of his age. The series tells the sagas of Ragnar's band of Viking brothers and his family, as he rises to become King of the Viking tribes. As well as being a fearless warrior, Ragnar embodies the Norse traditions of devotion to the gods; legend has it that he was a direct descendant of Odin, the god of war and warriors.

Written by History Channel, "Vikings" will return for 10-episode second season next year. Production is set to begin this summer.The show's first-season finale will air tonight (April 28). The renewal comes five episodes into what has been a successful run for the series. With a lead-in from the Mark Burnett-produced The Bible, Vikings had 6.2 million viewers; 2.5 million adults 18-49 viewers and 2.7 million adults 25-54 catch its March 3 debut. That topped the broadcast networks at 10 PM in the 18-49 demos.

The series has emerged as the No. 1 new cable series of the year. "Vikings is a win for us. As our first scripted series, Vikings has paid off in a big way with critical acclaim, strong ratings and a passionate, loyal fan base. It came out of the gate strong and has stayed on top, solidifying History as a major player in the scripted genre, just as we are in reality," said Dirk EVP, Development and Programming for History, in a statement today.

Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok, an ambitious man looking to discover new worlds to conquer.It was created and written by Michael Hirst, who also executive produces with Morgan O'Sullivan of World 2000, John Weber of Take 5 Productions, Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer, James Flynn and Sheila Hockin. Hoogstra and Julian P. Hobbs are executives in charge of production for History.
