There are three things to look out for in the upcoming sixth season of The Vampire Diaries, the anti-magic boundary spell, good to evil character transformations, and the new relationships that will blossom.

In Season 5, the anti-magic boundary concept was introduced. Caroline Dries, the show's executive producer, hinted that it will continue to drag on through and into the next season, which in many ways affects the show's major characters.

Season 6 expects its characters to contemplate the notion of "home' because of the magical barrier surrounding Mystic Falls. Some would go as far as to speculate that such a boundary will be a major factor on the various characters in the next season.

According to TV Fanatics, some of the characters will go on a personal journey to re-discover what home means, while others will be affected by their banishment and exile.

There are also insights about Elena, particularly, when Dries mentioned in an interview that she and Jeremy will embark on personal journeys to address their grief.

Both characters lost the objects of their affection and many believe that Elena will use this grief to become a villain type character in Season 6.

WetPaint said in a report, that Elena is a strong contender for a villain role after she flirted with the idea of going evil post Jeremy's death in Season 4. Add to that, the grief Elena went through when she lost Damon, and it appears to be a likely recipe for imminent malice.

There are also ideas about new budding relationships in Season 6. WetPaint predicted Liv and Jeremy will be in each other's arms. The basis WetPaint used for this was the episode/scene when Liv flirted with Jeremy in front of Bonnie.

Now that Bonnie is no longer around (she disappeared with Damon after the Other Side was obliterated), a Jeremy-Liv love affair makes for a logical course of events.

Another love angle being considered is that Stefan and Caroline will hit it off. The two were rumored to become an item next season.

However, fans are starting to worry that this setup will create friction between Elena and Caroline.

"Her feelings for Stefan are friend feelings. I personally feel like she's not quite sure what she's feeling," Dries said. "It's all types of confusing. Lots of grey area: Stefan is her friend. Elena loved Stefan. Elena's her best friend. It's kind of a no-fly zone."
