New spoilers have emerged for the upcoming special Christmas episode of 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6. According to sources, Damon and Elena might be seen kissing underneath the mistletoe when the special episode airs on December 11.

Fans can recall that for the first part of the season, Damon, played by Ian Somerhalder, and Elena, played by Nina Dobrev, were separated. After that, Damon returns to the land of the living and finds that Elena has erased all the positive memories and moments she had shared with him from her memory.

Now, it seems that Elena regrets her decision and wants to remember all the good times she's spent with Damon, but unfortunately, Damon once again thinks she's better off without him.

However, it seems that the writers for 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 have not given up hope on putting Damon and Elena back together, as spoilers reveal that they will share a special moment during the holiday season.

According to showrunner Julie Plec, "There may be some hanging mistletoe in Damon and Elena's future, she told E! Online, adding, "Whether or not they kiss underneath it remains to be seen."

On that note, IBTimes says that even if the pair should kiss underneath the mistletoe for an "oh so special" moment, that doesn't mean they're going to get back together. Fans know that the two have never had it easy when it came to their relationship, but nevertheless, a shared kiss on a nice Christmas night would surely please "Delena" fans.

Stepping back to the first Christmas episode, some fans hope that this year's special will not be as violent. Viewers can recall that Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, murdered 12 hybrids and Tyler's mother in Season 4.

Again, as this year's Christmas episode marks the second one in the show's history, there's a chance that it will focus on the show's relationship, instead of its intense action.

On that note, Alloy Entertainment went ahead and posted the synopsis for 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Episode 10 entitled, "Christmas Through Your Eyes."

It reads, "FLASHBACKS TO CHRISTMAS IN MYSTIC FALLS - With the holidays approaching, Bonnie (Kat Graham) attempts to replicate her favorite holiday traditions, while reminiscing about happier times. Michael Allowitz directed the episode written by Caroline Dries."
