Vampire Diaries Season 6 Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Show to Return Back to LJ Smith's Book
Vampire Diaries Season 5 closed with the shocking death of Damon Salvator. In the upcoming Season 6 episodes, fans are likely to get answers for all the questions produced by the show's most recent finale.
Among all the unresolved dilemmas and rumors stemming from Season 5's final episode, fans are most excited about Kay Graham's character, Bonnie.
Recently reports confirmed that Graham will return for the show's Season 6, "She is [back next season], but I don't know in what form or for how long. Just as shocked as the next person. I've been on the show for five years, and I cried when I watched the finale." Graham told TVLine.
Meanwhile, Ian Somerhalder's character Damon is another character that keeps the fans interested. Recently the actor posted and Instagram photo of a tombstone reading "Damon" in an eerie graveyard with a caption that read, "Rest in Peace Damon Salvatore. #GameOver : (."
The actor may have been teasing with the insinuation about his character's death, but if it turns out that there's truth behind it, fans will surely be left heartbroken.
Additional reports show Executive Producer Julie Plec's confirmation that Somerhalder and Graham are both contracted for Season 6. Although it is still unknown how they will appear in the upcoming season, what's important is their presence in the series.
Fans have already realized that the TV show deviates from L.J Smith's book, which it was supposed to be based on. However, recent rumors suggest that the show's upcoming installment could draw inspiration from the text and bring the show back towards its roots.
Vampire Diaries Season 6 will air October 2, 2014 on the CW Network at its regular time slot of 8 pm.
