Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Stars Stay Active During Off-Season, Pursue Other Things While Staying Busy
"The Vampire Diaries" may be in its offseason, but that doesn't mean that its biggest stars aren't making things happen in other ways. Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon on the show, is steering his career in an interesting direction, far from the vampire persona he's grown accustomed to over the past several years.
He's currently in the midst of a tour through Russia, and he informed his fans via Instagram that he will be making an appearance on a Russian talk show later this week. Somerhalder shared a little anecdote from the filming that one audience member will surely never forget.
"Just finished Russian talk show Ivan Urgant! So fun talking The Ivana Chubbuck Technique and doing a sexual fantasy exercise with some unsuspecting audience member. Thank you Irina for letting me mentally undress you TV. The show airs on May 29th in Russia. (sic)."
Undoubtedly, Irina will be envied by millions of "Vampire Diaries" fans worldwide. Somerhalder's tour will continue through Europe and Asia over the next several months, but don't worry, he will return for production on the fifth season of "Vampire Diaries" and Comic-Con.
In other "TVD" news, executive producer Julie Plec continues to shed some more light on the new season. In a recent interview with TV Line, she revealed that Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) would have a difficult time adjusting to his humanity.
"Jeremy will not have a very easy time of it," Plec said. "His first big hurdle is his cover story for being suddenly alive. So he'll struggle a bit with the return to the normal world."
