CBS Network's Under the Dome premieres on June 30 and fans hope that with the new season, the origin of the mysterious dome will be revealed. Author Stephen King teased in previous reports that no one is safe in Chester's Mill, especially the characters that slowly disclose their personal agendas.

Rachelle Lefevre, who plays Julia Shumway, talks about the impact that the new characters have on the show, "We think that we know who the good guys are and the bad guys are, and then we have all these new players, and it kind of rocks the foundations of everything that we built in the first season," she told Access Hollywood.

Among the new casts are Karla Chrome (Rebecca Pine), Eddie Cahill (Sam Verdreaux, Junior's uncle), and Grace Victoria Cox (Melanie).

"[Stephen aims to] give it a few more teeth; give the characters even bigger challenges. So that's what we did. We're going to places that TV series don't often go. This is not gonna be all sunshine and light," CBS executive producers said.

Xontrary to what most fans would expect, Cahill's character will be introduced on the premiere episode of Season 2. The previous installment, Season 1, ended with a cliffhanger of whether or not Junior will pull the lever to hang Barbie.

A synopsis for Heads Will Roll states, "Barbie's fate lies in Big Jim's hands, and the Dome presents a new threat when it becomes magnetized. Meanwhile, Julia seeks out the help of a stranger to save the life of a mysterious girl who may hold clues to origin of the Dome."
