The Evolution Championship Series (or EVO for short) represents the largest and longest-running fighting game tournaments in the world. The tournament features a variety of fighting games and players from around the world who compete for the championship. This year's EVO will be held in Las Vegas on July 11-13.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 will be featured in EVO and is the biggest tournament in the line up, with almost 2,000 signing up for the event. Other games include Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with around 1,000 people signing up, followed by Super Smash Bros. Melee with 970 people.

There are also other games available for sign up including, BlazBlu: Chronophantasma (508), Killer Instinct (338), King of Fighters XIII (319), Injustice: Gods Among Us (311), and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (257). Along with the fighting games, there will also be an indie showcase, according to IGN.

EVO says that the event brings together the best of the best from around the world in a dazzling exhibition of skill and fun, "Our tournaments are about more than just winning. EVO is open to anyone, feature stations available for relaxed free play, and offer unique opportunities to meet people from different countries and different walks of life who share your passion," EVO added according to their website.

EVO continued by stating, "Established champions face off against unknown newcomers and new rivals that might have only talked or fought online meet up and become old friends."

EVO's newest game addition, Ultra Street Fighter IV, was released just a few weeks ago, adding new features and characters to the popular game. New characters and new stages are sure to make the EVO Ultra Street Fighter IV event, a must watch for attendees.
