New Huskies head coach Kevin Ollie looks to continue his predecessor's success as the 7th seed UConn face off against the 10th seed St. Joseph's Hawks tonight. This is the first time UConn is playing in a NCAA tournament without their legendary former head coach Jim Calhoun. Calhoun personally choose his former Huskies star Kevin Ollie as his replacement after he retired from coaching. Calhoun led UConn to 3 NCAA Championship in his tenure that started in 1986 and ended in 2012.
"Coach Calhoun is like a father figure to me," said Ollie said to reporters regarding his former coach. "I never went in there like I'm going to fill those shoes and try to be Coach Calhoun. I've got to be Kevin Ollie."
