True Detective Season 2 Spoilers, Cast Rumors: Colin Farrell in Discussions for Lead Role?
Stepping further into the rumors surrounding 'True Detective' Season 2, and they begin to detach from the truth or anything that makes sense in general. However, one rumor has a strong foothold on its accuracy, and it involves a major actor playing the lead character in the upcoming installment.
Deadline reports that Colin Farrell is already in talks with HBO to feature in the lead role for 'True Detective' Season 2.
Josh Hill writes in TrueDetective.com, "I can tell you that Colin Farrell is deep in negotiations to play one of what is expected to be three main roles in Season Two. HBO has been mum about cast so far, as rumors have swirled that Jessica Chastain and some others will be one of the other leads. HBO would not confirm any of the potential castings, but I am confident that Farrell will be in the cast."
Although not many fans were expecting the casting decision, adding Colin Farrell to the show would surely be appreciated by all concerned. While Farrell's name was not in the hat initially, he definitely appears to be the most appropriateactor for the leading role of an older character mentioned to date.
There has yet to be any confirmation about the casting of Colin Farell onto the show, and in addition to that, HBO has not announced a release date for the second season either.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with The Daily Beast, "True Detective" creator Nic Pizzolatto said that the script for Season 2 of the show is almost "halfway" through.
Pizzolatto disclosed that "True Detective" Season 2 will feature four central roles, rather than the rumored three characters. He also confirmed the reports that the show will be set in California. As far as the rumor about Season 2 being revolved around "secret occult history of the U.S. transportation system" is concerned, Pizzolatto preferred not to comment.
