'True Detective' Season 2 Release Date, Cast Rumors: Farrell, Moss, Kitsch Taking the Lead Roles?
'True Detective' producers have confirmed that they will start filming the HBO crime-mystery drama in September. Reports go on to mention that Season 2 can be expected to premiere by the Summer of 2015.
Additional reports claim that the producers of the series had a tough time trying to pick the perfect detectives for Season 2. The first two True Detective's were Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, who have left incredibly large shoes to fill for the next batch of actors who will take over the hit HBO TV series.
Collin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch were previously rumored to have been cast for 'True Detective' Season 2, but the series' producers and the actors themselves have neither confirmed nor denied the rumors.
Christian Bale and Jessica Chastain were said to have been pursued by the show's producers to take on the lead detectives' role in the upcoming season, but both have reportedly declined the positions due to the time commitment the hit series demands.
Beyond that, Elizabeth Moss, Michelle Forbes, and Vince Vaughn, are tied into the rumors which say they will be joining Farrell and Kitsch for the forthcoming 'True Detective' season.
Meanwhile, HBO executive Michael Lomobardo has reportedly confirmed that Season 2 will be set in California, and will be traveling around the state for the entire duration of the long-awaited season. The HBO programming director also confirmed that the latest 'True Detective' season will have three cops as central characters, an older cop (which speculations suggest will be Farrell's role), a budding young cop (reportedly to be portrayed by Kitsch), and a tough female cop named Ani Bezzerides (which reports suggests would likely be played by Moss).
