'True Detective' Season 2 Release Date, Cast Rumors: Elizabeth Moss Set for Police Role?
The upcoming second season of the hit HBO television show, 'True Detective', is rumored to have added yet another big-named celebrity to its cast. Elizabeth Moss has been rumored to have landed a role in the popular mystery-drama series.
"I can't even...it's....you know...not in the way everyone is talking about, honestly. I had to ask my own people, have you not told me something?" Moss recently spoke with US Today about the rumor. She was flattered to be associated with the TV show as an actress who's been in the business for over 25 years.
Even Moss's co-star Mark Duplass from 'The One I Love' made mention about it, "I'll just say that since people have started to see 'The One I Love', I've gotten lots of emails from (HBO) brass that I work with, and every one of them is in love with Elisabeth Moss. So more rumors are going to fly," Duplass said.
Rumor has it that, Moss is set to play a police role in Season 2 of 'True Detective'.
While the show does not have an official premiere date as of yet, it's speculated to be released sometime in January of 2015. Also, reports make mention that the TV series will be different than what fans are already accustomed to with Season 1. Apparently, Season 2 will feature a new story, theme, and brand new cast.
Spoilers for the upcoming second season of the show were revealed by show creator Nic Pizzolato. He said that the script is halfway finished and that the new season will have four main characters. Also, the show's setting will take place in California.
Beyond Moss, other actors rumored to be joining the cast include, Gerard Butler, Brad Pitt, Collins Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Christian Bale. However, none of these casting rumors have been confirmed as of yet, so fans will just have to wait for more announcements or until the series returns.
