True Blood Season Premiere 2013 Recap, New Season Has a Few Surprises and Twists with Your Favorite Characters

True Blood's season premiere was June 16 and it was a doozy. The season premiere of True Blood is always one of the first signs of summer and this one was no different.

Last season came under some criticism from fans for its hokey plotlines and underdeveloped characters. But, the finale was universally praised, with Bill drank Lilith's blood and the two were finally joined.

The True Blood season premiere picked up where the last season left off. Fan favorites Eric and Sookie were running from an evil entity, which is an example of the high points of the show, which come when characters have crossing plot lines.

From what we've been able to gather, this season will focus mostly on the war between humans and vampires, lead by a new Governor. This war looks to be the focal point of the conflict of the season, with True Blood's characters beginning to diverge.

The premiere was not without its' criticism though. The fun and light-heartedness of the previous seasons was nowhere to be found in the episode. It will be interesting to see what direction the show goes in the future.

How about you? Did you like the premiere?
