‘True Blood’ Season 7 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Tara Thornton Death an Unexpected Surprise; What to Expect Next
As expected, True Blood Season 7 premiere episode was action-packed with a lot of morbid scenes and endless battle between the Hep V-infected vampires and the werewolves. It was total chaos in the latest episode of the HBO's hit vampire/werewolf drama.
Rutina Wesley's death came as an unexpected outcome of the bloodbath and also because Tara attempted to save her mom, Lettie Mae. It was the character's second death on the show and it looks like there is no reincarnation to follow. But for Wesley, it was the most satisfying goodbye she had on the show.
"I've loved my journey on this show, so I have no regrets. It's like, "Okay, cool! Let's do it!" And I got this amazing kick-ass fight," Wesley told Vulture.
True Blood once topped television ratings before Game of Thrones and American Horror Story conquered the primetime. The show even received a Best Drama Award at the 2010 Emmys and Golden Globe acting recognition for Anna Paquin.
Executive producer Brian Buckner modeled some of the highlights of the season that could potentially invite viewers back, "Sprinkled into this season are some fun flashbacks to people you thought you weren't going to see again, and we're going to learn, for example, how Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Eric wound up in Shreveport," he revealed.
"Because it's the last season of True Blood, we're not going to pull any punches," Buckner told Zap2it, "When you're in the middle of a series run and you don't know how long you're going to run, you can have characters get into trouble but they're always going to get out of it. But there will be profound consequences this year, I'll just put it that way."
True Blood Season 7 Episode 2 "I Found You" airs on June 29 on HBO.
